Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Open Zoo Day Tour

This tour combines a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, home to one of the world’s largest herds of captive Asian elephants, with an exploration of Pinnawala Open Zoo, where native wildlife roams in spacious naturalistic enclosures. At the orphanage, guests witness the spectacle of the herd’s twice-daily river bathing and observe the dedicated feeding routines that sustain the rescued and orphaned elephants in its care. The journey includes a round-trip transfer from Colombo or Negombo, a knowledgeable guide throughout, lunch at a local restaurant, and all entrance fees; personal elephant riding and direct-contact activities are not offered, in line with our responsible tourism principles.
