Udawalawe

The finest place in Sri Lanka to observe wild Asian elephants, Udawalawe's open grasslands and reservoir support one of Asia's highest elephant densities. Herds of twenty to fifty regularly gather at the water's edge at dawn and dusk. The Elephant Transit Home offers an educational encounter with orphaned elephants being carefully rehabilitated for eventual release.
