Temple of the Tooth, Kandy

The most sacred Buddhist site in Sri Lanka and one of the most revered in the world, the Temple of the Tooth houses the left canine relic of Gautama Buddha, venerated for over two thousand years. The golden-roofed complex beside Kandy Lake holds daily puja ceremonies with lotus offerings, incense, and drumming that are deeply moving.
