Your Daily Path

Day 1 - Colombo Arrival & City Welcome

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to a boutique city residence in Colombo. Settle after your flight with a free evening to explore the neighbourhood at your own pace, a restaurant dinner, a harbour view or an early night ahead of a fortnight of discovery.

Day 2 - Galle Fort & the First Sunset

Drive south along the expressway to Galle. Spend the afternoon exploring the cobbled lanes and courtyard corners of the Dutch Fort. Find your spot on the ramparts as the sun descends into the Indian Ocean and the fort’s ancient cannon silhouettes turn gold against the fading light.

Day 3 - Artisan Morning & High Tea

A slower morning inside Galle Fort reveals details missed on arrival: the painted doorways, the sleepy cats in the courtyards, the artisan boutiques, and the best bookshops. The afternoon is devoted to a coastal terrace high tea: a heritage ritual done in genuine style, with the ocean below.

Day 4 - Eastern Coast & Tangalle Retreat

Travel east along the rugged southern coast to Tangalle, one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful beach destinations. Check into your oceanfront retreat and let the rest of the day dissolve quietly. Dinner is fresh and local. Sleep comes easily here, with nothing but the sea on the breeze.

Day 5 - Jungle Temple & Private Coves

Mulkirigala Rock Temple rises from the surrounding jungle, its five cave shrines, ancient frescoes and hilltop dagoba. Return to Tangalle for an afternoon of privacy, a spa session, or a quiet hour at a secluded beach cove accessible from the resort, where the ocean feels entirely your own.

Day 6 - Udawalawe & the Highland Edge

Journey inland toward Udawalawe, stopping at the Elephant Transit Home to watch rescued elephants. Continue toward the highland escarpment at Wellawaya or Koslanda, where the landscape shifts from dry plains to mountain forest and the evening air carries a welcome coolness.

Day 7 - Highland Estate Day

A day of pure highland immersion at Koslanda: explore the private estate, take a nature walk through adjacent forest with the resident naturalist or simply float in the pool with valley views. This is a day designed not for sightseeing but for arriving fully – breathing in the mountain air.

Day 8 - Nine Arches & Tea Gardens

Journey to Ella and visit the Nine Arch Bridge, set among lush tea gardens that have made this view one of the most photographed. A leisurely walk through the surrounding estates follows before checking into a high-altitude retreat where the mountain panorama awaits from the terrace.

Day 9 - Little Adam's Peak & Mountain Spa

An optional sunrise walk to Little Adam’s Peak delivers one of the most rewarding highland starts possible. Return for a proper breakfast before an afternoon entirely devoted to a spa treatment with mountain views: massage, steam, silence and the sound of wind through the tea-covered slopes.

Day 10 - Culture & the Sacred City

Descend from the highlands to Kandy. A guided visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic is unhurried and deeply absorbing. The afternoon walk around Kandy Lake, with the temple rising on one side and the wooded hills on the other, offers a perfect meditation on the island’s soul.

Day 11 - Peradeniya, Sigiriya & the Lion Ascent

Begin at Peradeniya Botanical Gardens before the drive to Sigiriya for the afternoon climb of the Lion Rock Fortress. Ascending the ancient staircases, past the famous Apsara frescoes and through the lion’s paw gateway to the summit, delivers views across the Cultural Triangle.

Day 12 - Village Morning & Coastal Return

A final morning in the Sigiriya area, a village tour through paddy fields, a canoe on the village lake and the warmth of rural life, before the afternoon drive to Negombo via the expressway. A last evening by the sea allows for reflection: one final sunset, one final meal and the particular bittersweet pleasure of a journey well completed.

Day 13 - Farewell & Departure

A private transfer from Negombo to Bandaranaike International Airport. An optional stop at a turtle conservation project or a coastal heritage site en route. Board with the quiet satisfaction that comes from having experienced Sri Lanka not as a checklist, but as a living, layered island.
