Your Daily Path

Day 1 - Arrival & Coastal Welcome

Land at Bandaranaike International Airport and head to Negombo, where a sunset walk along the beach and a lagoon boat through the mangroves. The evening ends with a seafood welcome dinner overlooking the ocean, a fitting beginning to a journey through the island’s greatest landmarks.

Day 2 - Sacred Anuradhapura at Dusk

Journey to Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A specialist guide leads an exploration of the sacred city, culminating in a visit to the Bodhi Tree as pilgrims gather for evening prayers. A cultural storytelling session around the day’s sights rounds off this immersive introduction.

Day 3 - Mihintale & Polonnaruwa by Bicycle

Begin at Mihintale, where Buddhism first arrived on the island. Continue to Polonnaruwa and explore the city by bicycle at your own pace, gliding past royal palaces, the serene Gal Vihara rock carvings and the expanse of the Parakrama Samudra reservoir in the afternoon light.

Day 4 - Caves, Frescoes & the Lion Rock

Explore the Dambulla Cave Temple with its five caverns of gilded Buddhas and ceiling murals. Continue to Sigiriya, where the afternoon climb of the Lion Rock Fortress is rewarded with ancient frescoes, water gardens and views across the Cultural Triangle from the summit platform.

Day 5 - Village Morning, Cultural Evening

Immerse yourself in Sigiriya village life, a bullock cart ride through paddy fields, a catamaran glide on the village lake and a traditional home-cooked lunch. Transfer to Kandy by afternoon, where an evening cultural dance performance and a night walk along the lakeside set the mood.

Day 6 - Temple, Gardens & Knuckles Highlands

Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. The afternoon shifts dramatically into the Knuckles Mountain Range, where a guided trek through cloud forests reveals endemic birds and rushing highland streams in one of the island’s most biodiverse landscapes.

Day 7 - Forest Trails & Tea Estate Scenery

Spend the morning in the Knuckles, walking forest trails that wind past waterfalls and remote villages. The afternoon drive to Nuwara Eliya winds through tea estate after tea estate, with a scenic pause at the Ramboda Falls viewpoint before descending into the cool highland town.

Day 8 - Horton Plains & Highland Leisure

An early departure into Horton Plains National Park yields one of the most dramatic experiences, the sheer cliff edge of World’s End and the Baker’s Falls. Return to Nuwara Eliya for a leisurely afternoon: a Gregory Lake boat ride or horse riding through the colonial-era town.

Day 9 - The Legendary Train to Ella

Board the train at Nanu Oya and ride the rails through the heart of tea country, with waterfalls and mist clinging to the valleys below. Arrive in Ella and head to the Nine Arch Bridge. Adventure options await: abseiling down cliff faces, ziplining through the canopy or quad biking the trails.

Day 10 - Safari & Sinharaja Bound

Drive toward Udawalawe via the cascading Ravana Falls for a memorable mid-morning pause. Afternoon brings a jeep safari inside Udawalawe National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and open grassland landscapes. As dusk approaches, transfer to the Sinharaja area.

Day 11 - Deep Rainforest Day

A naturalist leads a full-day guided trek through Sinharaja Forest Reserve. Track endemic birds through layers of emerald canopy, swim in a crystal-clear forest stream and return to the eco-lodge as the jungle falls quiet. An evening nature talk deepens the day’s extraordinary encounters.

Day 12 - Galle Fort & Southern Evenings

Transfer to Galle and walk through the Dutch Fort’s cobblestone lanes, colonial merchant homes, boutique galleries and artisan shops. Sunset on the ramparts, with the lighthouse casting a golden glow across the ocean, offers the most picturesque farewell. Optional dining in a heritage setting.

Day 13 - Departure via Colombo

Head to the airport along the southern expressway, with an optional detour into Colombo for a morning visit to the Gangaramaya Temple, the green expanse of Independence Square and a final browse through the stalls of the Pettah market, a vivid last impression of Sri Lanka’s living culture.
