Your Daily Path

Day 1 - Arrival & Coastal Rest

Touch down at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Negombo. In the afternoon, a beach walk along the golden shore or a stroll along the historic Dutch Canal offers a familiarisation with Sri Lanka. A good night’s rest prepares you for twelve days of highland adventure ahead.

Day 2 - Kandy & the Sacred Temple

Drive to Kandy, the cultural capital nestled in a bowl of hills. A guided visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic reveals one of Buddhism’s most sacred shrines. The afternoon calls for a lakeside walk and a wander through the local market, where colour, scent and sound arrive in equal measure.

Day 3 - Into the Knuckles

Transfer to the Knuckles Mountain Range via a Matale spice garden, including cinnamon, pepper, and cloves. Settle into a hillside lodge by the forest before a sunset hike to a nearby viewpoint. As the sky turns amber, the full promise of Sri Lanka’s mountain wilderness reveals itself.

Day 4 - Full-Day Highland Trek

A full day of guided hiking through the Knuckles Range traverses cloud forests, tea trails, remote highland villages and waterfalls with a local naturalist. A picnic lunch in a forest clearing offers a quiet pause. The diversity of landscape packed into a single day here is genuinely remarkable

Day 5 - Ruins & Reservoir Vistas

Drive to Nallathanniya via the Maskeliya Reservoir, pausing at the atmospheric Sunken City. Explore the Gartmore Falls and Castlereagh Reservoir. An optional visit to the Norwood Bungalow offers colonial-era charm and tea tasting on a working estate of great character.

Day 6 - Adam's Peak Before Dawn

The pre-dawn ascent of Adam’s Peak is among Sri Lanka’s most moving experiences, a pilgrimage undertaken for centuries. Reach the summit for a sunrise that floods the misty landscape below. The evening brings an Ayurvedic massage to ease the limbs and lift the spirit.

Day 7 - Tea & Tranquillity

Transfer to cool Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s little England. The morning at Gregory Lake. Visit a working tea factory to watch the full production process, withering, rolling, oxidising, drying and sorting, before a proper tasting session. The hotel afternoon is completely at leisure.

Day 8 - World's End at Dawn

Rise early for Horton Plains National Park, trekking through dew-laden montane grasslands to the World’s End viewpoint and Baker’s Falls. Sambar deer graze at the trail’s edge while endemic highland birds flit through the bracken. Return to Nuwara Eliya refreshed and exhilarated.

Day 9 - The Train, the Bridge & Ravana Falls

Board the celebrated hill country train from Nanu Oya for the iconic ride through tea country to Ella. Explore the famous Ravana Falls and Nine Arch Bridge before a relaxed afternoon at a hilltop cafe. Optional yoga, ziplining or quad biking follows for those with energy.

Day 10 - Ella Rock Sunrise & Adventure

A pre-dawn start for the climb of Ella Rock is richly rewarded. Return for a leisurely breakfast before a fully flexible afternoon: rest, a spa treatment or further adventure activities. Ella at its most unhurried and beautiful, with a final highland night to savour.

Day 11 - Yala Safari

Transfer to Yala National Park for an afternoon safari through dense bush and coastal scrubland. Sri Lanka’s most celebrated wildlife destination delivers leopards alongside elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears and birdlife. Overnight near the park for a sense of true wilderness immersion.

Day 12 - Farewell & Departure

An early transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport via the southern expressway. Those with flexible departure times may stop in Colombo for a final city encounter, a temple visit, a market browse or simply a strong cup of Ceylon tea before clearing the gates and heading for home.
