Board the iconic hill country train from Nanu Oya and glide through tea-draped valleys, cascading waterfalls and cloud-wrapped mountains on the way to Ella. Explore the Nine Arch Bridge and Ravana Falls: the trails offer abseiling, ziplining, or a quad-bike circuit through the hills.

A morning hike to Little Adam’s Peak and a three-to-four-hour transfer across the island’s dry zone to Arugam Bay. One of Asia’s surf capitals greets you with an entirely different energy: laid-back, sun-soaked and blissfully slow, with a warm lagoon and great seafood awaiting.

A full day in Arugam Bay. Optional surfing lessons on the famous point break cater to beginners and seasoned surfers alike. As the afternoon drifts toward evening, the short walk to Elephant Rock delivers a stunning bay-wide panorama just as the sun begins its descent.
