Your Daily Path

Day 1 - Arrival & Coastal Welcome

Touch down at Bandaranaike International Airport and ease into island life with a short drive to Negombo. Spend the afternoon unwinding by the beach or beside your hotel pool, then settle in for a seafood dinner at a seaside restaurant, the perfect first taste of Sri Lanka.

Day 2 - Elephants, Ruins & Sunsets

Begin the morning at Pinnawala Open Zoo, home to one of the world’s largest herds of captive elephants. Continue into the Cultural Triangle and settle into Sigiriya, then climb the neighbouring Pidurangala Rock at dusk for a sweeping panoramic sunset over the ancient plains below.

Day 3 - Rock Fortress & Village Life

Rise early for the climb of Sigiriya Rock Fortress, exploring ancient frescoes and water gardens. Afternoon brings gentler pleasures: a bullock cart ride through paddy fields, a catamaran glide across the village lake and a home-cooked lunch. Optional Ayurvedic massage at day’s end.

Day 4 - Cave Temples, Spices & Dance

Discover Dambulla Cave Temple’s vivid Buddha statues and listen as your specialist guide brings the legends to life. A stop at a Matale spice garden follows before arriving in Kandy in time for an evening Kandyan dance performance, a riot of drumbeats, fire and centuries-old tradition.

Day 5 - Gardens, Lakes & Sacred Shrines

Stroll through the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, with over 4,000 plant species. A peaceful walk around Kandy Lake and a visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth precede a panoramic city viewpoint, where Kandy unfolds below in a sweep of hills and rooftops.

Day 6 - The Famous Train Ride & Tea Country

Board the scenic train from Kandy, winding through mist-draped highlands toward Nanu Oya. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya and explore a working tea factory from leaf to cup, finishing with a tasting session. The cool afternoon air of Gregory Lake invites a leisurely stroll or an optional boat ride.

Day 7 - World's End & Highland Solitude

Set out before dawn for Horton Plains National Park, trekking through rolling grasslands to World’s End. Baker’s Falls rewards with a refreshing finale before returning for a relaxed Nuwara Eliya lunch. The afternoon is entirely yours to rest and breathe the highland air.

Day 8 - Waterfalls, Bridges & Ella Bliss

Wind down through the southern highlands to Ella, stopping at the Ravana Falls en route. Check into your hillside lodge and spend the afternoon at Nine Arch Bridge and the breezy trail up Little Adam’s Peak. Thrill-seekers can cap off the day with ziplining or a quad-bike circuit.

Day 9 - Into the Wild

Leave the highlands behind and drive through dry zone scrublands, arriving at your safari lodge in time for a tranquil afternoon. Settle into the rhythm of the wilderness, birdsong, rustling leaves and the call of wildlife, before an early night ahead of tomorrow’s pre-dawn safari adventure.

Day 10 - Leopards at Dawn, Waves by Noon

Wake before sunrise for a thrilling jeep safari through Yala National Park, scanning the dry forest for leopards, elephants and sloth bears. After lunch at the lodge, transfer to the golden sands of Mirissa on the southern coast. The afternoon belongs to the ocean or simply to resting by the shore.

Day 11 - Turtles, Surf & Galle Ramparts

Spend a relaxed morning at Wijaya Beach before heading to Weligama. Late afternoon brings the crown jewel of the south, Galle Fort. Wander the colonial ramparts, duck into boutique galleries and find a spot on the lighthouse wall for an ice cream as the sun sinks into the sea.

Day 12 - Farewell & Departure

Conclude your journey with a private transfer to the airport. Consider a final stop at the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, where baby sea turtles are released daily. Alternatively, those with early-afternoon flights may stop at Gangaramaya Temple for a moment of meditation before departing.
